How to Wear Your Crystals

Which wrist, which day, how to cleanse and where to place — clear, practical guidance for every crystal bracelet, Karungali mala and pyrite Vastu piece in the Chandram collection.

The Basics, in Six Points

Left Wrist or Right Wrist?

Wear a crystal bracelet on the left wrist when you want to receive — calm, healing, sleep, emotional balance. Wear it on the right wrist when you want to project — action, confidence, wealth and career momentum. If you are unsure, the left wrist is the safer default for daily wear.

Cleansing Your Crystals

Rinse hard stones such as tiger eye, jade and quartz under clean running water once a week. Use only a dry cloth or moonlight for selenite, karungali, amethyst and raw pyrite — water damages them. Salt, incense smoke and moonlight are the gentlest options for every piece.

Charging & First Wear

Twenty to thirty minutes of early morning sunlight is enough to recharge most bracelets. Skip strong sun for amethyst and rose quartz, which fade. Many customers begin a wealth piece on a Friday and a protection piece on a Saturday — helpful, but not essential.

Vastu Placement Basics

North supports career flow, south-east supports wealth, north-east supports clarity and meditation, and south-west supports stability. Keep Vastu frames at eye level, facing into the room, and away from bathrooms and staircases.

When to Take It Off

Remove bracelets, malas and pendants before bathing, swimming, gym sessions and sleep. Store each piece separately in a soft pouch so beads do not scratch each other and threads do not stretch.

Setting an Intention That Works

Hold the piece in both hands, breathe slowly and state one specific, realistic goal. A crystal is a daily reminder of that goal, not a shortcut. Consistency over three to four weeks is what customers report the most benefit from.

Crystal Bracelets & Anklets

Which wrist, which day and how to keep the beads clean — bracelet-by-bracelet guidance for every piece in the Chandram range.

Step-by-step: energising & wearing

  1. 1

    Unbox and inspect

Check the elastic, count the beads and lay the bracelet on a clean cloth. Report any damage to us within 48 hours.

  2. 2

    Cleanse

Rinse hard stones such as tiger eye, jade, quartz and aventurine under clean running water for one minute. For pyrite, selenite and karungali, wipe with a dry cloth only.

  3. 3

    Dry completely

Pat dry with a soft cotton cloth and leave it in open air for ten minutes. Never wear a damp bracelet — moisture weakens the elastic.

  4. 4

    Charge

Place it on a windowsill in early morning sunlight for 20–30 minutes, or in moonlight overnight. Keep amethyst and rose quartz out of strong sun; they fade.

  5. 5

    Set your intention

Hold it in both palms, take three slow breaths and state one specific goal in your own words.

  6. 6

Wear it on the right wrist

For wealth, career, confidence and action-led goals — the right wrist projects energy outwards.

  7. 7

    Or the left wrist

For calm, sleep, healing, emotional balance and protection — the left wrist receives.

  8. 8

    Build the habit

Wear it through your working hours for at least 21 days before judging the difference. Consistency matters more than the hour you start.

Recommended timing

  • Best start day: Friday for wealth and abundance, Saturday for protection, Monday for calm and emotional balance.
  • Best time of day: sunrise to 10 am, right after a bath.
  • Cleanse weekly; recharge on every full moon.
  • Daily wear: 8–12 hours. Remove before sleep.

Care notes

  • Remove before bathing, swimming, the gym, and applying perfume, sanitiser or lotion.
  • Slide it on and off over your hand — never stretch or roll the elastic.
  • Store each bracelet in its own soft pouch so beads do not scratch.
  • Avoid salt water, chlorine, harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners.

Malas & Pendants

Karungali malas and stone pendants are personal pieces. Here is how to wear, chant with and care for them without damaging the beads.

Step-by-step: energising & wearing

  1. 1

    Unbox and check the thread

Run the mala through your fingers and check the knots and the tassel or guru bead for any looseness.

  2. 2

    Dry-cleanse only

Karungali (ebony) and rudraksha must never be soaked. Wipe with a dry cotton cloth, or pass the mala briefly through sandalwood or camphor smoke.

  3. 3

    Charge overnight

Rest it in moonlight or on your altar overnight. Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which dries and cracks wooden beads.

  4. 4

    Oil wooden beads

Apply one drop of sesame or coconut oil to karungali and rudraksha beads and rub it in with your fingers.

  5. 5

    Set your intention or mantra

Choose one mantra or affirmation and stay with it. Switching mantras weekly breaks the rhythm.

  6. 6

    Chant with the right hand

Hold the mala in your right hand, draped over the middle finger, and move bead to bead with your thumb. Do not use the index finger.

  7. 7

    Complete 108 and turn back

At the guru bead, stop — do not cross it. Turn the mala around and continue in the opposite direction for another round.

  8. 8

    Wear or store it

Wear it around the neck or wrap it on the wrist for daily wear, or keep it in its pouch reserved only for practice.

Recommended timing

  • Best start day: Monday or Thursday; Saturday is traditional for karungali.
  • Best time: brahma muhurta (4–6 am) or dusk, facing east or north.
  • One round of 108 takes roughly 10–15 minutes at a calm pace.
  • Oil wooden beads once a month; dry-cleanse weekly.

Care notes

  • Never wash karungali, rudraksha or sandalwood malas with water or soap.
  • Remove before bathing, sleeping and non-vegetarian meals if you follow that practice.
  • Keep the mala off the floor — hang it or store it in its pouch.
  • Do not share your practice mala; keep a separate one for gifting.

Vastu Frames, Yantras & Décor

Direction matters more than decoration. Use these placement notes for pyrite frames, yantras, pyramids and crystal trees.

Step-by-step: energising & wearing

  1. 1

    Clear the spot first

Declutter and dust the surface. A Vastu piece placed on a cluttered shelf does nothing for the room.

  2. 2

    Wipe the item clean

Use a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth. Keep water away from pyrite, metal yantras and wire trees.

  3. 3

    Choose the direction

North for career and cash flow, south-east for wealth, north-east for clarity and meditation, south-west for stability and relationships.

  4. 4

    Set the height

Mount frames and yantras at eye level, facing into the room. Keep table pieces above knee height, never on the floor.

  5. 5

    Energise it

Light a diya or incense, ring a bell or clap once at the spot, and state the purpose of the room out loud.

  6. 6

    Keep the sightline open

Nothing should block the piece — no cupboard doors, cables or stacked papers in front of it.

  7. 7

    Review monthly

Dust it, check it is still facing the right way and confirm the room is still used the way you intended.

Recommended timing

  • Best install days: Thursday or Friday morning; festivals such as Diwali, Akshaya Tritiya and Gudi Padwa are also favoured.
  • Best time: before noon, with natural light in the room.
  • Dust weekly; re-energise with a diya or incense at every new moon.

Care notes

  • Avoid bathrooms, under staircases, storerooms and the wall behind a bed.
  • Never place on the floor or above a doorway.
  • Keep raw pyrite and metal pieces completely dry to prevent tarnish.
  • Do not crowd multiple yantras on one shelf — one focal piece per zone.

Raw Pyrite & Crystal Clusters

Raw stones are display and intention pieces. Keep them dry, keep them visible and place them in the zone that matches your goal.

Step-by-step: energising & wearing

  1. 1

    Handle over a soft surface

Raw clusters have brittle edges. Unbox over a cloth or cushion and hold from the base, not the points.

  2. 2

    Dry-clean the stone

Use a soft brush to lift dust from the crevices. Pyrite must stay dry — water causes it to rust and flake.

  3. 3

    Charge without water

Moonlight overnight, or 20 minutes of indirect morning light. Skip the salt-water method for pyrite and selenite.

  4. 4

    Place it with purpose

Cash counter, work desk, locker or the south-east corner of a living room for wealth; north-east for a meditation corner.

  5. 5

    Give it a base

Set the cluster on a wooden or brass plate so it is raised, stable and easy to dust around.

  6. 6

    Activate the space

Say your intention once when you place it, and once more each time you dust it.

Recommended timing

  • Best placement day: Friday for wealth intentions, Tuesday for protection.
  • Best time: morning hours, before the space starts being used.
  • Dust every week; recharge in moonlight once a month.

Care notes

  • Never soak, wash or salt-cleanse pyrite — it oxidises and loses its shine.
  • Wash your hands after handling raw pyrite.
  • Keep clusters out of reach of small children and pets; edges are sharp.
  • Avoid direct afternoon sun on amethyst, rose quartz and fluorite.
  1. 1Wipe the cluster with a dry brush or cloth — never soak raw pyrite, as prolonged water dulls its lustre.
  2. 2Place it in the north or south-east zone of your home, office cabin or shop counter.
  3. 3A cash drawer, safe or work desk are the most practical spots for a wealth-intention stone.
  4. 4Dust it once a week and keep the surface around it clutter-free.

North governs career flow and south-east governs wealth in Vastu.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which hand should I wear a crystal bracelet on?

Left wrist to receive calming and healing energy, right wrist to project confidence, action and wealth intention. Wealth pieces such as the Dhan Yog Bracelet are usually worn on the right.

How often should I cleanse my crystal bracelet?

Once a week is a good rhythm. Rinse hard stones under clean water and dry them fully. Use a dry cloth or moonlight for karungali, selenite, amethyst and raw pyrite.

Can I wear more than one crystal bracelet at a time?

Yes. Keep the intentions related — for example a wealth bracelet with a pyrite band — so you are working on one goal rather than several at once.

Can Karungali malai be washed with water?

No. Karungali is ebony wood. Wipe it with a dry cloth and apply a drop of sesame or coconut oil once a month to keep the beads from drying out.

Where should I place a pyrite Vastu frame or cluster?

North for career flow and south-east for wealth. A cash counter, work desk or shop entrance are the most practical spots. Keep raw pyrite completely dry.

Still not sure which piece is right for you?

Tell us your goal — wealth, protection, focus, peace or a meaningful gift — and we will recommend the right product and exactly how to wear it.
